Pier Table
Title
Pier Table
Description
A mahogany Empire pier/petticoat table with a mirrored back. The top over a plain conforming frieze. The two front columns with carved Corinthian-styled capitols. The lower shelf with concave front and sides. A mirror in three sections behind the shelf, trimmed in rosewood. Inside the lion-paw front feet are acanthus leaf and floral carvings, forming skirts on each side of center under shelf. The finish appears to be the original high gloss French polish which has been rebuffed and conserved.
