Title

Music Box

Description

Regina music box, originally belonged to Matilda Bishop Lowe. This large disk music box sits in the original oak resonating stand. Some cleaning and repairs may be needed.

From Burke Hodgson:
"This Regina Music box dates from the 1880s and belonged to my Great Grandmother Matilda Bishop Lowe. It is unusual because the resonating stand was built for the music box. There is also an unusually large collection of disks. It was broken for many years, but in the 1920s my father replaced a number of the jeweled bearings and got it working again. Based on this, my mother snitched it, ignoring all criticism from other family members. It has a beautiful tone. It was broken for a few weeks this summer, but I was able to find someone who fixed it for me."
