American ca 1870s Oil Painting
Title
American ca 1870s Oil Painting
Description
This landscape shows the coastline of the Northeast near Cape Cod. The cleaned and restored canvas has golden pink tones of a sunrise reflecting across the water. Large boulders lie prominently along the sand on the coastline. This painting reflects the style of Thomas Moran, an influential painter of the fourth quarter of the 19th century. The shadowbox style frame has beading near the convex and casting on the outer edge of the frame which looks like stylized waves.
