American Empire, c. 1850, Mahogany wardrobe with gothic paneled doors. This wardrobe was found in an outbuilding behind a "lost" Antebellum house on Milledge Avenue in Athens, GA.
Birdseye maple Empire arm chair. Original caned seat bottom and hand rubbed finish. This chair once sat in the dining room of Crawford Long's Oglethorpe County home.
Mid-19th century case clock. Mahogany case with side columns on plinth. Rare painted scene of the University of Georgia Campus on the bottom glass panel.
Classical c. 1825-1830 chest of drawers. Mahogany with elaborately carved acanthus leaf columns and lion paw feet. Empire period cast brass drawer pulls.
Ornate mid-Victorian sure screen. Rococo carved details and large screen size indicates manufacture in 1850-1860. The needlework could be original to the piece but this pattern was often copied as lat as the 1940s.
Mid-19th century brass inkwell. The accompanying feather was trimmed and functioned as a pen. The letter, a facsimile, illustrated handwriting typical of the period.
