Description
Portrait of young gentleman in early 18th century style dress and large, tall wig, which indicates ca. 1730 date. Oval frame is original period frame with robust inner rope border and outer frame of acanthus leaves in a tighter manner than the later Georgian style.
Canvas stretched over rather heavy hewn frame with elaborate system of wooden wedges for strength.
