Description

A Renaissance Revival chair with wine damask floral upholstery on the back and seat. The curved crest rail surmounted by a carved, stylized rosette and leaf motif. The corner ears with carved rosettes. The crest rail with a zigzag carving. The side brackets with incised scrolling. The round seat on a seat rail with grooved banding. On turned front legs and front casters.

From Burke Hodgson:
"This chair came from the Lyndon House and originally had the same upholstery as the Victorian sofa (1999.01.01). Both my grandmother and mother used this chair as a telephone chair, but my great-grandmother, Anna Brown Lyndon, probably used it in one of the double parlors since the upholstery matched the sofa."
